EWS-Gallery is pleased to present “The Extraordinary World of Saul Steinberg,” an exhibition of works from the 1970s by one of the twentieth century's most inventive visual minds. Through masterful compositions such as “Three Landscapes,” “Album,” “Airmail" and “Bauhaus,” Steinberg reveals his unique perspective—shaped by his experiences as an immigrant, a New Yorker, and an artist.
Saul Steinberg (1914–1999) had one of the most remarkable careers in American art. While best known for the covers he created for The New Yorker over nearly six decades, he was equally celebrated for his drawings, paintings, prints, collages, and sculptures, which were exhibited internationally in galleries and museums.
Steinberg’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Moderna Museet, The Museum of Modern Art, the Centre Pompidou, and the Art Institute of Chicago, among many others.
Presented by EWS-Gallery, “The Extraordinary World of Saul Steinberg” offers a focused selection of works from the 1970s, reflecting the wit, invention, and extraordinary visual intelligence that defined his artistic legacy.
